Your Immune System - Part 1

by Mr Vigour

You were not created in weakness…

YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM Part 1 of 4

Your immune system is one of the most intricate, intelligent, and powerful systems in your body. It operates like a well-trained army, always on guard, always ready to fight off invaders, whether bacteria, viruses, or harmful toxins. But let’s be real. Even at a high level of science, the immune system is complicated.

That’s why I want to break it down into something simple and easy to understand. Your body is a temple, and your immune system is the defense mechanism that protects it. Each part of your immune system has a role in keeping you safe.

The Lymphatic System: Your Body’s Drainage System

This is a vast network of vessels and nodes that flush out toxins, manage fluid levels, and transport white blood cells which are your body’s infection-fighters. Think of it like a sewage system for waste removal, but instead of plumbing, it’s protecting you from sickness.

Lymph Nodes: Your Body’s Security Checkpoints

Scattered throughout your body, lymph nodes are like security stations that trap harmful microbes and give your immune cells the chance to destroy them before they spread.

The Spleen: Your Body’s Blood Filter

The spleen removes damaged or old red blood cells and helps produce antibodies and immune cells. Think of it as your body’s quality control department, ensuring that only healthy, functional blood cells circulate.

Bone Marrow: The Factory of Immune Soldiers

Inside your bones is a powerhouse called bone marrow. This is where your infection-fighting white blood cells are made. Without this constant supply, your army would have no reinforcements.

The Thymus: Training Camp for Immune Soldiers

This small gland is where T-cells, one of the most critical types of white blood cells, are trained to recognize and destroy invaders. It’s like a boot camp for your immune system, preparing cells for battle before they are sent out into circulation.

Now, here’s where it gets even more amazing. Your immune system has specialized warriors:

  • B-Cells – They produce antibodies that tag invaders for destruction.
  • T-Cells – These act like special forces, hunting down infected cells and destroying them.
  • Macrophages & Phagocytes – These act like the “clean-up crew,” engulfing and digesting harmful bacteria and debris.
  • NK (Natural Killer) Cells – These patrol your body looking for cancerous or virus-infected cells to destroy.
  • Cytokines – Chemical messengers that signal your immune system to take action.

Your body was fearfully and wonderfully made. It has everything it needs to protect and heal itself. But, it also requires the right support and raw ingredients to make that happen, and that is your responsibility to steward well.

How to Keep Your Immune System Strong
  • Stay hydrated to help flush out toxins. 1 ounce of water per 1.5 pounds of body weight is the daily target.
  • Eat nutrient-dense foods that fuel your immune cells. Raw fruits and vegetables are perfect when you’re sick, meat and eggs rebuild your strength after illness.
  • Get enough Vitamin D. Either sunbake 30 minutes a day, or supplement. 20,000 iu’s of vitamin D is a great option when fighting illness.
  • Support your body with powerful raw ingredients that keep your immune system strong, like zinc and vitamin C.
  • Get enough sleep because your immune system regenerates at night.
  • Avoid processed foods and excess sugar, which weaken immune function.

Want to fortify your immune system this flu season? Check out these essentials...

Vitamin D is essential for the immune system because it acts as a powerful regulator, activating key immune cells and enhancing the body’s ability to fight off infections, including viruses like the flu. It helps produce antimicrobial peptides that act like natural antibiotics, destroying harmful invaders before they can spread. Low vitamin D levels are linked to increased susceptibility to illness, chronic inflammation, and autoimmune conditions. However, vitamin D must be taken with vitamin K2 to ensure proper calcium metabolism. Without K2, calcium can accumulate in arteries and soft tissues instead of being directed to the bones where it belongs. K2 also supports cardiovascular health and prevents arterial calcification, making the combination of D3 + K2 a crucial duo for overall wellness.

Medicinal mushrooms are some of the most powerful natural allies for immune function, offering a unique blend of polysaccharides, beta-glucans, and antioxidants that help regulate and strengthen the body’s defense system. Cordyceps sinensis enhances immune response by increasing oxygen uptake and cellular energy, helping the body combat fatigue and stress, which can weaken immunity. Reishi mushroom, known as the “mushroom of immortality,” supports immune modulation, reducing inflammation and promoting a balanced immune response. Shiitake mushrooms contain lentinan, a compound that enhances the body’s ability to fight off infections and even supports cardiovascular health. Lion’s Mane is best known for its cognitive benefits, but it also has powerful immune-modulating effects, helping to maintain a strong gut microbiome which is where nearly 70% of the immune system resides.

In addition to these, my supplement Resilient includes Maitake, Turkey Tail, Chaga, Royal Sun Agaricus, White Button, and Black Fungus mushrooms with each offering distinct immune-supporting properties. Maitake stimulates immune cells, Turkey Tail is packed with polysaccharopeptides that enhance white blood cell activity, and Chaga provides some of the most potent antioxidant protection found in nature. This blend works synergistically to enhance immune function, fight off harmful pathogens, and promote overall resilience. If you’re looking for a natural way to fortify your immune system, medicinal mushrooms are one of the best investments in your health.

Vitamin C is one of the most well-known immune-supporting nutrients, but not all Vitamin C is created equal. Most store-bought Vitamin C supplements contain ascorbic acid, a synthetic, lab-manufactured version that lacks the full spectrum of plant compounds found in nature. But God designed a better way. Whole-food sources of Vitamin C, like Amla Berry, Rose Hips, and Citrus Bioflavonoids, contain natural co-factors that enhance absorption and utilization, making them far more effective than isolated ascorbic acid.

That’s why my Vitamin C supplement is made entirely from plant-based sources. Amla Berry is one of the richest natural sources of Vitamin C, packed with powerful antioxidants that strengthen the immune system, reduce inflammation, and enhance cellular repair. Hesperidin (from citrus fruit) and Quercetin act as bioflavonoids that improve the absorption of Vitamin C while also supporting a healthy histamine response which is important for fighting off seasonal threats and respiratory infections. Rose Hips provide additional Vitamin C along with polyphenols that boost overall resilience.

God made it better, and that’s why I only use whole-food, plant-based Vitamin C in my formula. It’s not just about getting Vitamin C, it’s about getting it in the way your body was designed to absorb and use it best.

Zinc is one of the most critical minerals for immune function, playing a direct role in activating immune cells, reducing inflammation, and preventing viral replication. Without enough zinc, your body struggles to produce and activate T-cells which are the immune system’s frontline defense against infections. Zinc also helps shorten the duration and severity of colds and flu by inhibiting viruses from binding to cell receptors. However, not all zinc supplements are created equal. Many come in poorly absorbed forms that pass through the body without providing full benefits.

That’s why I use zinc sulfate heptahydrate in a liquid form, ensuring maximum bioavailability and rapid absorption. Unlike tablets or capsules that must be broken down by the digestive system, liquid zinc is absorbed almost instantly, allowing your body to use it right away. This is especially important for those with compromised digestion or nutrient malabsorption issues. My formula delivers highly bioavailable zinc in its most effective form, making it one of the best ways to strengthen the immune system, support wound healing, and enhance overall health.

Your immune system isn’t just a biological process, it’s a divine masterpiece. Take care of it the way God designed.
